The 401st Infantry Battalion is part of the 4th Infantry Brigade, Tennessee State Guard.  The unit is headquartered at the National Guard Armory, 1801 Holtzclaw Avenue in Chattanooga.  The Battalion Commander is 1LT Terry Bishop, the Battalion Command Sergeant Major is CSM Andy Forrester.

The 401st drills the second Thursday night of each month from 1900 hours (07:00 PM) until 2130 hours (9:30 PM) at the National Guard Armory located at 1801 Holtzclaw Avenue, Chattanooga.   The Battalion conducts Field Training Exercises (FTXs) on a quarterly basis.

The METL of the 401st is established to support the objectives of the 4th Infantry Brigade, and the TNSG mission as a whole.  Proficiency in the tasks of the battalion METL is achieved through a combination of classroom and hands-on training, and the tireless efforts and dedication of the soldiers of the 401st Infantry Battalion.
